FLOWERS

Wild flowers abound at Ellary & Castle Sween. In the spring the primroses sometimes cover the ground so thickly that it is hard to walk between them. The woods can be carpeted with bluebells; the hills adorned with marsh orchid and the ling heather in August almost seem to make the hills shine.

Around Ellary House is the remains of a once famous collection of Rhododendrons and other shrubs. Some of these specimens have grown to a great size and make a spectacular display when they flower.
